Gareth isn’t new to Filix. “I’ve known the team for over a decade,” he says. “I’ve watched them grow, and now, with everything they’ve built, it’s the perfect time to be part of it.”

Filix has established itself as a leader in underwater lighting—one of the most challenging areas in the industry. “If you can do underwater lighting well, you can do anything,” Gareth explains. “That’s the hard stuff. Now, we’re taking that expertise into architectural and urban lighting, and the potential is huge.”

What stands out to him is the company’s solid foundation. “The hard yards have been done,” he says. “Filix has top-notch engineering, well-positioned operations, and a strong presence across Europe, the US, and the Middle East. Now, it’s about scaling that success.”

The UK as a Key Market

For Gareth, the UK is a critical part of Filix’s global strategy. “The UK is a major specification hub,” he explains. “Many international projects are influenced by UK-based designers. If Filix is strong in the UK, that strength carries over into projects worldwide.”

The goal? Expand the presence of Filix in the UK market while maintaining the company’s core values of engineering excellence, flexibility, and trust. “We’ve got brilliant products, and now it’s time to make sure more designers, architects, and specifiers see that firsthand.”

With architectural and urban lighting as the next focus, Gareth is confident that Filix is set to make a big impact. “We’re bringing fresh ideas, great design, and real technical expertise. The next few years are going to be very exciting.”
